In her highly individualistic style, artist Lynda Pleet, has taken the familiar theme of domestic cats and dogs and imbued them with dynamic modernism. Trained as a painter, her sculptures have the spontaneous quality of drawings come to life. The simplified linear forms are playfully sophisticated. Her emphasis is on capturing the spirit of the subject rather than on realism.

Each piece is richly enhanced by multi-layered hand painted finishes. The creative brushwork and patterning add a graphic vitality to these stylized animals. Ms. Pleet's artwork reflects the contemporary direction of art and design.

Her sculptures are solid cast in porcelainized resin.
